Minority/Women Business Development InitiativeTexas Instruments, in keeping with good business practices and the responsibilities of a good corporate citizen, is committed to providing procurement opportunities to certified minority (MBE) and woman-owned (WBE) businesses.

TI's objective is to utilize an inclusive sourcing process that seeks out and enables certified MBEs and WBEs to qualify and successfully compete for TI's business. This allows these firms to grow and create jobs thereby strengthening the economy of communities in which TI operates.

TI also expects is 1st Tier Suppliers to utilize an inclusive supply chain that includes certified MBE and WBE suppliers. 1st Tier Suppliers are required to report purchases with MBEs and WBEs each quarter through TI's Sub-Tier Initiative. TI's Sub-Tier initiative serves as an enhancement to and not a replacement for efforts to increase meaningful opportunities for MBEs and WBEs to participate in TI's supply chain as 1st Tier suppliers.

Each business within TI is responsible for sourcing and utilizing MBE and WBE suppliers, committing to purchases and monitoring their progress.

A certified MBE is one that is verified by a third party agency to be at least 51% owned, controlled and independently operated by a US citizen(s) who is an ethnic minority. This includes African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian-Indian Americans, and Asian-Pacific Americans.

A certified WBE is one that is verified by a third party agency to be at least 51% owned, controlled and independently operated by a US citizen(s) who is a woman (women).
