Ritter
Philip (Phil)
J. Ritter was elected senior vice president in September 2001. He has global
responsibility for the company's public affairs activities, including government
relations, philanthropy and community affairs. He is a trustee of the Texas
Instruments Foundation and also serves as chairman of the Constructive Citizenship
Program of Texas Instruments, which is the companys political action
committee.
Mr. Ritter
started with Texas Instruments in 1989 in TI's Law Department as counsel
to a variety of the company's businesses. Most recently he was responsible
for managing education initiatives, community relations, and corporate philanthropy,
and he was instrumental in working state and local government issues for
the company.
Mr. Ritter
is involved in a range of civic, educational and professional activities.
He currently serves as chairman of the Texas Education Reform Caucus and
is chairman of the Alliance for Higher Education. He is past president of
the Volunteer Center of Dallas County and a former member of the Dallas
Area Rapid Transit Board. Mr. Ritter is also on the boards of the United
Way of Metropolitan Dallas, World Affairs Council, Dallas Fort Worth Minority
Business Development Council, Texas Taxpayers and Research Association,
and the Texas Association of Business and Chambers of Commerce.
Prior
to joining TI, Mr. Ritter worked for Sun Exploration and Production Company
as an attorney and also spent two years on the staff of the Texas Senate.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctorate degrees from the University
of Maryland as well as a Master's in Public Affairs from the LBJ School
of Public Affairs, University of Texas at Austin.
