Employee development

Employee development is a strategic priority for TI. We continually seek to enhance the skills, knowledge and experience of employees, with the purpose of improving performance, maintaining competitiveness, retaining employees and grooming future leaders.

We employ a variety of training methods – online, university-based and peer-to-peer. We rely on both internal TI and external community resources. Our goals are to both meet the needs of the business and to provide employees with opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Why development? We operate within the rapidly changing electronics industry. Products change, strategies change and customers change. We must keep advancing TI's institutional knowledge base and our employees' skills – or we risk obsolescence.

Furthermore, to retain talented employees we must offer them opportunities to advance or they will seek career growth elsewhere. Advancement carries new and diverse responsibilities, and we must train our workers to meet escalated expectations.

Finally, we invest in leadership development because of its strategic importance. Our capability to grow depends on our leaders. As generations of leaders retire, we need new minds and hearts to guide TI. And we hope to find that leadership talent from within.
