TI’s employee development activities focus on creating challenging work assignments that stretch our employees’ capabilities in new and different ways. Our objective is to produce meaningful job experiences, provide great coaches and mentors, and offer opportunities for learning and growth.
Talent development strategy
Our Worldwide Talent Development group creates, facilitates and sponsors a variety of employee development opportunities, programs focused on revenue-driving company leaders, programs that further develop our highly critical technical community, and customized education for high-potential employees across various roles within and across individual business groups.
We deliver highly customized, targeted training solutions for unique business groups. In 2010, TI prepared to launch a new e-learning portal, Learn@TI. It offers a suite of online tools, video capabilities and a link to business collaboration rooms on Infolink (TI’s employee news website). The portal also has enhanced search capabilities, the ability to track development activities, and more focused content to help drive business results globally.
Employees took advantage of our online development tools in 2010. For example:
High-quality technical literature was downloaded more than 130,000 times from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
About 1,200 employees spent more than 3,300 hours researching technical concepts using online engineering book resources.
More than 2,500 TIers took advantage of resources designed to build business acumen, support management challenges, or provide knowledge of other countries where we do business.
