Management systems
Our occupational health and safety-management system helps us reduce or eliminate risks that could result in personal injury or illness. We record performance data; identify trends, weaknesses and hazards; and take steps to remedy flaws. Site managers, working in concert with environmental, safety and health (ESH) committees, oversee these systems. These individuals meet regularly to set direction and communicate the importance of working safely to employees.
Our comprehensive ESH policies and principles set a high standard for performance and are endorsed at the highest levels of our company. We also adhere to these internationally recognized standards to meet ESH goals:
Our business units' conformance to these global standards helps them meet company and marketplace expectations. Currently, 95 percent (19 of 20) of our manufacturing and assembly/test sites worldwide are ISO 14001:2004- and BS OHSAS 18001:2007-certified. Company leaders monitor conformance with these and other standards through site-level internal and external audits.
