Community support
TI's support for diversity also extends into the community. The TIDN provides volunteers and funding for a diverse cross section of community organizations. Our community involvement philosophy dates back more than 75 years to the company's founders, who believed it was crucial for our company and employees to give back and help make our neighborhoods attractive places to live and work.
As further evidence of TI's commitment to the community, we founded the Diversity Connections Consortium, a networking group of diversity professionals that meet quarterly at awareness summits and periodic town hall meetings to share best practices. Consortium members include IBM, First American, Intel, FedEx, Mary Kay Products, the Southern Company, Lockheed, Fluor Corp, BNSF Railroad and others. In 2008, the TIDN presented at a summit hosted by IBM.
