The expansion of e-learning capabilities globally will help facilitate knowledge sharing at all TI sites, including those recently acquired in China and Japan. We continued engaging, training and mentoring both new hires and critical personnel to drive smart business growth faster.
Like other companies, TI’s 2009 restructuring eliminated layers of management, making some career transitions more lateral. While career progression opportunities remain, we will need to continue engaging our workforce about this changing culture.
For creating the next generation of successful industry leaders through outstanding hiring, professional development and career advancement programs, TI was honored by the Association of Educational Publishers with its second annual Talent Development Innovator Award.
Looking ahead
TI will continue supporting new product line managers and sales leaders to help them succeed. We also will better equip high-potential employees to build a pipeline of leaders capable of driving success.
Additionally, we plan to expand our global college rotation programs, which provide graduates exposure to manufacturing, sales, applications, product engineering, finance and operations. This will improve our ability to attract and retain the best talent.
Finally, TI will roll out a new online source, myPerformance, later in 2011. Available in local languages, it will enable:
Managers to record and retrieve performance and development discussions.
Organizations to distribute surveys to measure employee understanding of goals and feedback.
Managers and employees to set priority-based goals, share and discuss feedback, complete performance reviews, and drive development planning.
