Corporate Citizenship Report

2009 performance

TI remained committed to offering numerous health, wellness and work-life programs in 2009 – at no extra cost to employees – despite the economic impacts our company faced. Although gym membership was down because of workforce reductions, TI did not see dramatic swings in disability claims this year.

Our health programs are improving our employees’ health and significantly saving our company in health care costs. In 2009, we expanded the Individual Health Management program to additional moderate-risk employees to help them control health issues before they escalate.

But challenges remain to get even more employees to eat healthier foods, exercise regularly, reduce stress, and maintain their blood sugar. In 2010, we will seek to offer more programs at various locations so employees working at any TI site can take advantage of these benefits.

TI also will continue to analyze the details of the recent U.S. health reform legislation and how it might impact our company. Like others, we are not immune to rising health care costs; this will be an ongoing challenge to manage in the future.
