TI is concerned with the health and welfare of our worldwide workforce, as well as the people in communities near our facilities where HIV/AIDS may pose a threat. We are committed to helping treat those with HIV/AIDS and reducing its incidence in the workforce by providing information about the disease and access to medical care.
We do see a high incidence of HIV/AIDS near some of the facilities where we operate, and we support employees who are living with HIV/AIDS with a number of benefits. For example, we offer full medical coverage to employees and their covered dependents who have the disease. In addition, we offer HIV/AIDS counseling and information at open houses for employees, families and friends, as well as free private sessions offered online, by phone or in person.
TI also is a recognized leader in offering volunteer and financial support to nonprofit organizations committed to combating HIV/AIDS. In Dallas, we have provided funds, volunteers and leadership to a variety of HIV/AIDS service organizations, including AIDS Arms, AIDS Services of Dallas, AIDS Interfaith Network and the Resource Center of Dallas.
Additionally, TI and the TI Foundation have continued their efforts with the Dallas Coalition of HIV/AIDS Services, which is a group of four HIV/AIDS service agencies working together to cut overhead expenses, increase collaboration, and develop strategies for organizational consolidation. This support has helped the coalition raise more than $350,000 and create plans to develop shared office space.
In 2010, TI and the TI Foundation helped the coalition secure pro-bono consulting from Deloitte and reduced-rate marketing/fundraising services from a local Dallas firm. This resulted in a vision statement as well as communications and business plans.
