Overview
TI Founder Cecil Green underscored the company's people philosophy when he said, "Getting ahead depends not on working people, but on working with people."
In that spirit, our leaders pay close attention to the safety, health and well-being of our valued workforce. We believe that a collaborative and inclusive work environment, complemented with targeted training and development, inspires innovation. This approach is integral to our long-term success as a company and applies to employees of all races, ethnicities, ages, genders, religious beliefs and sexual orientation.
Through the hard work and collaborative efforts of employees around the world, the company continued to grow significantly in 2011 with the acquisition of National Semiconductor. Given our demanding work schedules, we continue to maintain work-life benefits to help employees balance the demands of work and life at home. We believe that providing flexibility in how work gets done is important to remaining competitive. We also continued efforts to educate and align employees, new and old, on our values and expectations.
Our leaders take seriously their responsibilities as stewards of the company culture, workplace and brand. They serve as role models among employees and in the communities where we operate. They also set the direction and pace for company activities, and ensure the well-being and success of the workforce. They are accountable for providing employees targeted development opportunities and helping build the next generation of leaders.
In addition to company leadership, TI sets the pace for a safe and respectful working environment through regular training and established guidelines, including its code of business conduct and business practices statement.
TI is recognized internationally for its commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive work environment. We receive numerous awards related to this commitment. In 2011, TI was named among the "Global Most Admired Companies" (ranking second in the industry) by Fortune Magazine and was included on Working Mother Magazine's "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" for the 16th consecutive year.
In addition, TI again was recognized by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index, which listed the company among the "Best Places to Work" for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality.
