As the work force changes, TI continually strives to design new work-life benefits that meet diverse needs.
Each business unit has different needs and each job has different requirements. The degree and breadth of flexibility is determined within business groups at local sites. To help human resources managers, business unit managers and employees understand what flexibility is and TI's flexible work options, we launched a Web-based program called FlexPaths late in 2008.
FlexPaths helps managers assess employee readiness for flexible work and trains them on how to manage distance commuters using an interactive toolkit. It also helps employees think through how to propose a formal flexible arrangement to their superiors.
In 2009, we will more aggressively communicate the tools and benefits that FlexPaths provides, and we will continue providing our popular work-life programs that balance the lives of our work force.
We are certainly pleased that our progressive benefits programs, flexible workplace and competitive salary continue to be recognized for their value. Some of our 2008 accolades include:
FORTUNE magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" – ninth consecutive year.
National Association for Female Executives' "Top 30 Companies for Executive Women" – third consecutive year.
IEEE Women in Engineering magazine's inaugural list of "Top 10 Best Companies for Women to Work.".
National Business Group on Health's "Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles" award – fourth consecutive year.
