We use a number of tools to provide our workforce with the resources and information they need to help reduce stress and ease personal obligations. Our key U.S. work-life programs are outlined below. Initiatives vary globally depending on specific work cultures and government-subsidized programs.

Corporate concierge

In an effort to make our busy employees' personal lives easier, TI offers a concierge service. At no charge, concierges help employees coordinate travel, shop for gifts, plan parties and find pet care. They even offer products for sale on the premises, such as tickets, gifts and discount cards, to reduce the need for off-site errands.

Community involvement

TI provides opportunities for employees to volunteer in their communities and enjoy art and cultural institutions through our corporate sponsorships. These investments enrich the quality of life in the communities where we operate, making them attractive places to live and work.

Maternity, paternity and adoption support

Parents need time to adjust when a new child comes into the home. We offer birth mothers eight weeks of paid maternity leave; new fathers receive two weeks of paid leave. We also support breastfeeding mothers when they return to work by providing medical-grade breast pumps and private rooms for pumping.

Adoptive parents receive two weeks of paid leave and are reimbursed up to $4,000 to cover adoption-related agency and legal fees, court costs and transportation expenses. Outside the U.S., we supplement government or local leave options, and provide child care and other parenting support.

Eldercare and child care services

The peace of mind that comes with quality and dependable elder care and child care is invaluable. That's why we offer a free online referral service called LifeWorks. It helps employees find a senior caregiver, child care center, home health care aides, cleaning services or help with a range of other issues, from parenting to legal advice.

Child care discounts

Child care costs are significant for working parents, which is why we contract with local and national child care providers to give 10 percent discounts. Employees also can use their flexible spending account's pre-tax benefit to help offset some child care costs.

Parenting classes

TI offers employees free online parenting seminars by a certified family life educator.

College coach

To help parents prepare their children for college, we provide free seminars that address saving, paying for and choosing the right college, as well as managing the college admissions process.

Junkins Scholarships

TI awards Jerry R. Junkins Memorial Merit Scholarships in honor of our former chairman, president and CEO to National Merit program finalists who are sons or daughters of active, retired or deceased TI employees. In 2011, TI awarded $4,000 scholarships each to 23 students across the U.S., and has given more than $1 million in scholarship funds since 1996.

TI summer camp

School holidays make it difficult for working parents to balance family responsibilities with work. At several U.S. sites, TI offers a summer activity program for children of employees and contractors for $40 a day. The state-licensed summer camp includes swim lessons, sports and fitness classes, arts and culture, education, and weekly field trips.
