TI's 2010 Annual Report and Citizenship Report provide a comprehensive overview of the company's economic, environmental and social performance for fiscal year 2010. There are, however, a few GRI indicators that have not been or cannot be addressed. These are noted in the GRI index, including, where applicable, explanations for the omission of data. |

The report does not include data on partially-owned subsidiaries, joint ventures, or outsourced operations with the following exceptions: energy consumption data from the large gas plant that serves our North Campus in Dallas is included in our overall energy consumption figures. This plant is owned and operated by another company and the gas is sold to Texas Instruments for use in our manufacturing operations. |

For the first time, we have included normalized performance data for energy and water use, waste, and GHG emissions. These metrics use TI’s annual chip production as the denominator and company-wide environmental metrics as the numerator.
In addition, all environmental performance data includes, unless otherwise noted, performance information from a new site in Richardson, Texas, as well as two acquired sites. The acquisition data only accounts for three months of operations in Chengdu, China and four months in Aizu, Japan.
Also, energy use data from a third party gas plant serving our North Campus in Dallas is now included in our energy consumption data (for all reported years).
