For the seventh year in a row, volunteers from TI helped repair homes and spruce up yards in nearby Hamilton Park recently as part of the Dallas Leadership Foundation's annual Celebration of Hope Day.
Nearly 65 TI employees and their families, along with volunteers from a number of other organizations and churches, helped with painting, landscaping and general clean-up of nine houses in the historic community adjacent to TI's Dallas headquarters.
"Celebration of Hope Day expresses the mutually beneficial relationship TI has enjoyed with Hamilton Park residents in a tangible way," said Ezra Penermon, TI director of Community Affairs. "Many Hamilton Park residents have given years of employment service to TI and now, Celebration of Hope gives TI a way to give back to this amazing community."
Gregory Duperon, a TI employee who has participated in the event for two years, said volunteering in Hamilton Park was an excellent opportunity to engage and impact TI's neighbors.
"TI has such a large footprint in the area," Duperon said. "The fact that the company works, regularly, to improve its surroundings speaks to the character of the company as a whole."
This year, the Celebration of Hope project recruited around 500 volunteers to apply their resources and aid the residents in four neighborhoods across the city, helping revitalize the homes of those who are elderly or disabled.
