TI Shanghai volunteers organized a week of activities recently to promote green living.

Volunteers from TI's site in Shanghai, China recently organized a weeklong series of activities with the theme of "Smart Your Life, Green Our World."

The group organized five activities, including a lunchtime session called "Being Green with TI in It," a "Green Tips Quiz," an "Exchange for Green" collection of used paper bags and batteries, tree planting photo contest, and "Bike to Work Day."

About 300 employees participated in the week's events, including TI volunteer Eddie Yin.

"This was my first volunteer work at TI, and I really learned a lot, both on environment protection and on TI corporate culture," he said.

"This week's activities were thorough and enlightening. It greatly enriched my knowledge on environment protection, and more importantly taught me to keep being green in my work and daily life."

About the sessions

During the lunchtime sharing session, "Being Green with TI in It," champions of electric vehicles and LED and solar lighting shared smart and environmentally-friendly TI technologies and showed how they are helping to improve the environment.

In the green tips quiz, employees engaged in several rounds of quizzes about environmental protection and ways to save energy. The tips helped raise awareness of environmental protection and encouraged employees to adopt greener lifestyles.

On Bike to Work Day, dozens of employees rode their bikes to work and participated in a session called "We Love Biking." Two experts from Giant also visited to talk with employees about biking.

Steven Zhou, a TI employee who built a high-tech bicycle that would safely transport him across the island of Taiwan, also talked with employees about his journey.
