TI employees in the Philippines plant 450 trees.

More than 120 employees from TI Clark in the Philippines showed their appreciation for the environment by planting trees recently in conjunction with Clean Air Month.

The employees, representing various organizations at TI, planted 450 saplings on the campus. The site is well-known for environmental projects such as tree-planting events. (See a related article.) These types of community activities are a key aspect of TI's Corporate Social Responsibility, said Jong Langcao, TI Clark's Pollution Control officer.

"Being involved in this kind of activity increases employees' awareness and appreciation of the environment," he said. "Doing what is right is our basic foundation."

TI Clark is responsible for the protection of the environment and community where it conducts business. For Earth Day this year, 40 Clark employees planted 80 mahogany saplings and several varieties of vegetable plants, launching the Gulayan sa TI project.

Event coordinators thanked the employees who participated in the latest tree-planting activity, saying the trees symbolize steady growth.
