TI Malaysia employees provided a breaking-of-the-fast buka puasa buffet for 80 orphans to close the annual Ramadan celebration, which ended in September. The children came from two orphanages in the Kuala Lumpur area where the TI site is located.

"Tonight's event is just one example of TI's commitment to enhance our Malaysian community," said Jan Ingersoll, wife of TI Malaysia Managing Director Tim Ingersoll. "Our slogan is 'We Care. We Share.' Our logo — a heart, 2, U — symbolizes the sincere, heartfelt commitment and dedication to this mission."
Malaysia is a predominantly Islamic country, and Ramadan is the most hallowed celebration of that faith. The celebration lasts a month and began this year on Aug. 11. Muslims spend the month fasting during the daylight hours from dawn to sunset. At the end of that time, there is a celebration called Festival of Breaking.
During the buka puasa celebration, the TI employees and guests enjoyed songs and dances performed by the children. At the close of the event, the children were given gift bags provided by the TI employees.
The site also presented the orphanages with gifts of rice, sugar, cooking oil and other foods.
