TI kicks off new volunteer incentive program for employees (06/12)
|
TI is providing incentives for its employees and retirees in the U.S. to become even more involved in their communities. A new volunteer incentive program will contribute funds into local nonprofits by matching volunteer hours that employees give to charitable organizations with a monetary donation from the Texas Instruments Foundation.
By participating in the new TI Foundation Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP), the TI Foundation will make a contribution of $250 to an eligible nonprofit organization for every 20 hours volunteered.
"We are excited to offer this new volunteer program, which has been requested by our employees from a variety of locations," said Andy Smith, TI director of corporate philanthropy. "This program will help provide financial resources to the nonprofits where our employees are involved."
A maximum of 80 hours volunteered per nonprofit organization will be matched for a total of $1,000 that can be donated on behalf of each individual on an annual basis. The maximum annual contribution that a single organization may receive under this program is $15,000.
"In addition to helping direct TI Foundation dollars to those nonprofit organizations that employees and retirees care about the most, this program gives employees the opportunity to boost the positive impact they make when they volunteer their time to support their local communities," Smith said.
Eligible organizations are non-profit, charitable organizations and K-12 schools, colleges and universities in the U.S. or its territories.
For more than 40 years, the TI Foundation has been matching employee and retiree donations to qualified education and arts & culture nonprofit organizations.
The minimum donation matched is $50, up to a maximum of $10,000 for education and another $10,000 for the arts each year.
