Sustainability: Employee well-being:
Recognition

At TI, we are committed to recognizing great performance with great rewards. We believe that when we acknowledge the value and commitment of our workforce, employees become better connected, engaged and aligned. That, in turn, encourages our talent to stay with us.

We have a global strategy in place to drive employee recognition at all levels of the company.

Recognition types

Recognition may take the form of a financial reward,  service anniversary or external recognition. It can also come in the form of non-cash recognition such as a coffee mug, event tickets or  group dinner and other individual and group recognitions. And it can be as simple as a heartfelt "thank you" or "good job."

Financial recognition

We compensate employees with market-competitive salaries. Employees also have an opportunity to receive variable cash rewards based on company performance. We offer a profit-sharing plan that pays out when we achieve a threshold of profitability. Additionally, we provide various other bonus opportunities based on individual, organizational and company performance.

Individual and group recognition

The TI Rewards and Recognition program helps managers select the appropriate way to reward U.S. employees and recognize business success. The program vendor provides a call center and Web-based catalog with items ranging from gift cards to logo merchandise that can be personalized and customized.

Some business groups offer employees the opportunity to express preferences for gifts and whether they prefer private or public recognition. Managers review these preferences to pick just the right awards for great performance. Other business units have developed formal recognition programs.

Non-cash recognition

Our human resources team regularly communicates the importance of thanking and congratulating employees for a job well done. They empower managers to create custom gifts based on individual interests, goals and more, so that employees know they are truly valued.

Service anniversaries

Service anniversary recognition is important, and we recognize our employees' milestones by:

  • Sending a reminder email to managers when their employees are approaching a milestone, with recommendations on how best to honor them.
  • Announcing service anniversaries in team meetings and on organizational websites.
  • Awarding service milestone gifts.

Every year, we host a banquet honoring employees in the North Texas area who reach milestones of between 25 and 50 years of service.

External recognition

Many of our employees are nominated for a variety of local and national industry and community awards each year. We recognize their achievements through internal articles, websites and posters.
