TI interns bring value in more ways than one
08/13
Interns from TI's Dallas sites recently devoted their time and energy to serve the local community by volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.
TI has a robust intern program that continues to grow and allow TI to "test-drive" potential employees while giving students valuable real-world experience.
"When done right, an internship is a win-win for everyone," said Beth West, TI’s US Intern Program manager. "Interns can bring energy to an office and the latest knowledge and techniques from their university education."
The TI intern program has been part of TI's corporate culture for more than 30 years and has consistently proved to be a success for students and the company, she added.
"Not only does it help students get the experience needed to find a job when they graduate, it helps TI identify and hire the best and brightest talent coming out of universities today," West said.
She added that TI's future success depends on its ongoing ability to make the company a place where the most talented students in the world want to start and build their careers.
TI’s internship program strives to provide interns with: Important projects that challenge them to find creative solutions to complex problems Access to invaluable insight and mentoring from TI's top leaders Opportunities to learn while making a real-world impact
Making a difference outside TI
Giving back to the community is an important part of TI's culture, and TI interns are encouraged to get involved. Recently the company's interns dedicated a total of 75 hours by helping at the Dallas Habitat for Humanity Restore, which also houses the main offices for Habitat for Humanity and the Dallas distribution center.
Interns spent their time cleaning out several large mobile storage containers that Habitat uses to transport construction materials to build sites. Several of the containers needed to be returned to the company that was loaning them to Habitat for Humanity. Interns helped clean out and organize the materials in about a dozen storage units.
