Marco C.
Engineering change in ADCs
It’s practically impossible to make a phone call anywhere in the world without using a circuit Marco has touched. Over the course of his career he has designed amplifiers sold in billions of devices today, many of which will be on the market for another 20 years. The impact of his innovations can’t be summarized in his 72 patents because it goes well beyond the technology itself to what that technology enables millions of people to do every day.
According to Marco, today’s projects require complex solutions. He’s a big believer in subconscious processing, and he often takes time out from a problem, only to find the answer just come to him while he’s focused on something else entirely.
Working across multiple projects in TI’s Kilby Labs, Marco spends his days challenging the analog status quo. He is constantly seeking solutions to new problems. The answers range from incremental improvements to radical changes that open markets we never imagined, but Marco gets excited about everything. He doesn’t have a favorite project but he believes that when he looks back on his career, it will be the one that has had the greatest impact on making our world a better place.
“TI was around before semiconductors, and we’ll be around after them. That’s a lofty goal, but it’s something we’re thinking about. We’ve only just begun.” |
