Innovation
Marshall C.
Engineering change in imaging technology
Marshall has been creating things as long as he can remember. When he was young, he created his own video games on the TI-99/4a home computer. Today, what he’s creating is making teachers’ lives easier with highly interactive, portable projection technology. Tomorrow, it could mean really cool products that enable users to interact with their devices in completely new ways, opening up entirely new markets. Beyond that, it’s the opportunity to impact medical technology in ways we can not even imagine today. The ability to build things that improves our quality of life continues to be his inspiration.
According to Marshall, the biggest challenge facing innovators today is how to avoid getting lost in the specs. He regularly tries to step away from the technical details and ask “how do our designs ultimately impact the end product and user.” Innovators need to anticipate needs that users don’t even know how to ask for.
His customer-focused approach to innovation is to look beyond the chips and make products that really matter. He wants to make a difference.
“I’m inspired by opportunities to solve problems in ways that make people’s lives better.” |
