Since the mid-1990s, TI has completed a series of acquisitions and divestitures designed to reshape the company from a diversified electronics company to a semiconductor company focused on signal processing technologies. These activities continue today as the company acquires firms with specialized capabilities and skills and divests product lines that no longer align with the company's strategic direction or performance goals.
