Integrated analog front ends for ultrasound applications

TI’s AFE58xx family combines multiple high-performance analog components into fully integrated analog front ends, providing superior image quality for a wide range of ultrasound applications. The devices consume less power and are more than 50 percent smaller than comparable devices in the market – all while maintaining low noise figures, which equip portable and handheld ultrasound systems with longer battery life and better image quality.

TI’s AFE5805 analog front end provides low power consumption and low noise for portable to mid-range ultrasound systems. The AFE5804 is pin-to-pin compatible and can easily migrate to an even lower power solution. Mode control enables flexibility when programming the level of noise and power performance to optimize a system. Both the AFE5805 and the AFE5804 are available in a 15-mm x 9-mm package.

TI’s new AFE5851 and AFE5801 reduce power consumption and package size even further to enable the new market for handheld ultrasound systems. The AFE5851 is the first 16-channel AFE for the ultrasound market. Both the AFE5851 and the AFE5801 are available in an ultra-small 9-mm x 9-mm package.
