TI is proud to be the first company to revolutionize application development for MCUs with embedded emulation tools. Ten years ago, emulating programming code for MCUs involved a very slow, large and expensive in-circuit emulators. The next phase produced was the Flash Emulation Tool which improved speed and ease of use but was still relatively large and expensive for quick evaluation. These challenges prohibited easy development and discouraged engineers from learning with MCUs.

The eZ430 family of tools, which are based on the newest technology of embedded emulation, allow the emulator to be the same size as a USB memory stick and communicate with the target board through only two pins! In addition, this new technology is so inexpensive that entire development kits which previously cost over $300 are now available for as little as $20. Best of all, there is no reduction in performance as the emulator still supports both precision analog and full-speed digital debugging.
