Building
on the success of its popular PTH series non-isolated
plug-in power modules, Texas Instruments introduces
its new wide-input, non-isolated point-of-load (POL)
power modules that are up to 50% smaller than their
predecessors. The new T2 series is suited to a wide
variety of applications, including datacom, telecom,
wireless, networking, servers, workstations and storage
systems using the latest generation DSPs, ASICs and
FPGAs. Other features include: SmartSync, 1.5% regulation
and Auto-Track™ sequencing.

| What
is TurboTrans™ Technology? |
|
T2
modules include TI’s new TurboTrans™
technology, a patented* feature that
allows the designer to custom tune the
module to meet a specific transient
load requirement. Tuning is accomplished
with a single external resistor. TurboTrans
helps design engineers achieve up to
8X reduction in output capacitance,
saving the cost of capacitors and PCB
space. TurboTrans also contributes
to enhanced stability when used with
ultra-low ESR capacitors, such as new
Oscon or all-ceramic output capacitors.
