DALLAS
– (Jan. 19, 2004) – Texas Instruments Incorporated (NYSE:
TXN) announced today that Jean-Francois Fau has been named President of
TI Europe. In this new role, Fau will be responsible for implementing
TI strategy and overseeing its operations throughout Europe.
Fau will maintain responsibility for sales, marketing and applications
in Europe, the Middle East and Africa as he assumes the additional duties
of his new job. Prior to this, he had overall management responsibility
for the European wireless communications business unit. “When you
combine the breadth of his semiconductor experience, including wireless,
with his experience in developing customer relationships, Jean-Francois
is uniquely qualified to lead TI Europe,” said Chief Operating Officer
Rich Templeton.
Fau has more than twenty years experience with TI’s Semiconductor
Group, during which time he has held senior marketing positions responsible
for the automotive, consumer and military sectors. He also worked closely
with leading telecommunications manufacturers to define, create and implement
mobile communications products.
Fau holds a master’s of science degree in electrical engineering
from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Toulouse,
France.
