2005
We completed a year of construction, experienced steady progress
and were on schedule for a first quarter 2006 finish. Exterior
work included glazing, roofing and accent metal panels, which
were nearing completion. Interior finish was ongoing with
the installations of drywall, ceilings, and paint, and efforts
in the main manufacturing cleanroom well under way with its
floors, ceilings, and fan units. Mechanical and electrical
utility systems that support both the facility and manufacturing
were approaching completion. Large storage tanks for manufacturing
gases and fire protection water were installed in the east
yard. Landscaping began to take shape with a perimeter berm
and sidewalks.
November
2005
Construction was on schedule for a March 31, 2006,
"substantial completion" date. Outside, work continued
on the exterior skin as well as landscape and sidewalk installation.
Major electrical gear and mechanical systems were installed,
tested and commissioned. Interior finish work continued.
October
2005
Exterior skin was nearing completion on a good portion of
the facility. Installation of chemical and specialty gas,
manufacturing support and main clean room components continued.
Start up also began on major mechanical and electrical systems.
Construction continued on schedule and within budget.
September
2005
TI hosted a highly successful construction open house
with more than 650 guests touring the site. Roofing continued
on the manufacturing, administration and central utilities
buildings. Major mechanical, electrical, and exhaust systems
components were well under way. The primary structure of the
manufacturing facility had been completed, and the exterior
skin was almost completed on the entire facility. Site paving
was also almost complete. The scheduled completion date was
still set for late first quarter of 2006.
August
2005
TI officially "topped out" the building
this month to celebrate the completion of the building's structural
steel and concrete. Roofing, window walls and precast erection
continued around the exterior skin of the facility, while
interior structural steel pipe racks were being installed.
Other interior finishing continued, including drywall, paint
and special coatings.
July
2005
Structural concrete was finished on the administration
and central plant buildings and neared completion on the main
manufacturing plant and support buildings. Roof installation
started on the main manufacturing plant. The exterior wall
development (architectural pre-cast concrete) continued on
the main manufacturing plant and administration building.
Concrete paving continued around the site with completion
of the first parking lot, ready for use. Work continued on
the high voltage switchyard expansion as well.
June
2005
Site concrete paving continued, along with placement
of structural concrete and steel. Precast work began on the
manufacturing and utilities buildings. Installation of large
mechanical piping and the high voltage substation yard was
ongoing, and roofing system installation began.
May
2005
All foundation piers were completed. Installation of structural
concrete and steel erection continued. Painting of manufacturing
floors was ongoing, along with installation of interior walls.
Additionally, the installation of a landscaping berm and permanent
parking lot construction were initiated.
April
2005
All building subgrade and foundation piers were completed,
while elevated structural steel construction began. TI increased
concrete pouring activity and the precast concrete skin was
in plant production.
March
2005
Constructions of the buildings’deep foundations were
completed. Underground utility work was expected to continue
for several more weeks. The erection of structural steel and
site paving began and major earthwork was completed.
February
2005
Foundation piers construction was initiated with an expected
completion date set for the end of February. Fabrication of
structural steel, exterior pre-cast concrete skin and switchgear
were scheduled to be finished in late March. Construction
on underground utilities, deep foundations and slab-on-grades
were set to be completed in mid-April. Soil work continued,
including the digging of the rainwater collection pond on
the north side of the facility. Structural concrete framing
began and was expected to continue through mid-July.
January
2005
The trailer park was nearly completed, and foundation piers
were installed. Above ground concrete pours continued along
with top soil removal. Rainy weather caused some setbacks,
but crews worked through the month to catch up. Early morning
concrete pours were expected the following month.
