| TI has made direct equity investments for more than 20 years
(see TI Direct Investment Program). TI became involved in Venture
Capital in 1996, when the TI Ventures Fund was formed as a dedicated
partnership with Granite Ventures. Since that time, TI Ventures
has invested in 35 companies and is now fully invested (other
than reserves for follow-on investments in existing portfolio
companies).
Over the past eight years, TI has expanded the TI Venture Capital Program to
include:
- Investments in and working relationships with several leading
VC firms, including VC funds focused on investments in medical
devices, wireless and communications technologies.
- Sourcing of deals and coordination with TI’s business
units on selected TI investments as part of TI’s Direct
Investment Program.
