JP
Morgan H&Q (the surving entity after Chase Manhattan Banks December 1999
acquisition of Hambrecht & Quist and subsequent merger with JP Morgan) was
founded in 1968. The company is a full-service investment bank focused on
rapidly growing, innovative companies that operate in four primary areas:
technology, healthcare, services and branded consumer. JP Morgan H&Q is
located in San Francisco, with principal offices in New York and Boston,
as well as offices in Europe, Asia and Southern California. In July 1998,
Granite Ventures (formerly H&Q Venture Associates) was spun off as a separate
entity, comprised of former H&Q venture capital employees. Granite Ventures
maintains an on-going working relationship with JP Morgan H&Q and leverages
its background in supporting growing technology companies worldwide.
In its 30-year history, Granite Ventures (and its predecessors) has
invested over $1 billion in more than 650 companies. Drawing upon this
financial, strategic and operating experience, Granite helps many young
companies overcome the substantial obstacles they face as they attempt
to grow their businesses.
