  Third-Party Spotlight

The MSP-Mojo target board from Third Party Quickfilter Technologies, features a 512 tap embedded single-channel precision digital filter chip, the QF1D512 Simple and Versatile FIR engine SavFIReTM which allows MSP430 MCU developers to perform precision digital filtering for applications such as vibration monitoring, audio filtering and medical patient monitoring.

Graphical Programming for MSP430 Is Reality With VisSim/ECD
Visual Solutions has released a new version of VisSim/Embedded Controls Developer for MSP430 that supports the full range of TI’s MSP430 devices, including the eZ430-F2013 Development Kit. VisSim/ECD for MSP430 generates efficient fixed-point code for on-chip peripherals, including digital filters, general logic and mathematical operations (such as square root, sine, arctangent, and PI and PID regulators), as well as efficient interrupt-based drivers for serial and I²C communications. For example, a diagram to perform encoder-based closed-loop position control with an SD16A used for set point and TimerA-based PWM output uses less than 100 bytes of RAM on an MSP430F2013.
