Newsweek
magazine list recognizes high school with TI ties
The
news is out from Newsweek magazine, and it’s positive
for two Dallas Independent School District high schools that
both landed atop the 2007 list of “America’s Best
Public High Schools.” The School of Science and Engineering
Magnet (SEM), where TI has been involved for more than a decade,
ranked second in the nation. Another Dallas school, the School
for the Talented and Gifted (TAG), took the top spot.

TI establishes its first Leadership University outside the U.S.
As part of its ongoing efforts to equip leading universities with the tools they need for world-class engineering, math and science programs, TI invited the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to become one of only four Texas Instruments Leadership Universities in the world. Under this program, IISc will join TI’s premier research network as its first Leadership University outside the U.S.

TI to open world’s most environmentally efficient assembly/test site
Continuing its commitment to environmental stewardship and the communities where it operates, TI will expand its assembly/test operations in the Philippines with a new site that aims to be the most environmentally efficient assembly/test site in the world. At 77,000 square meters in size, the site within the Clark Freeport Zone will incorporate many of the environmental and energy design features that TI first used when constructing its Richardson fab (RFAB) semiconductor manufacturing facility.

Commute solutions for TI employees aim to reduce ozone levels
Since 2001, TI has led an annual Commute Solutions Campaign during ozone season (May-October), to educate employees and promote alternatives to single-occupant commuting in gas-guzzling vehicles. The purpose of the campaign is to reduce emissions and related problems that contribute to pollution and improve quality of life for all.
