Marcia PageWhen Marcia Page joined the Foundation for Community Empowerment (FCE) in February 2005 as a loaned executive from Texas Instruments (TI), she fulfilled a personal commitment to immerse herself in the community and make a difference in the lives of others. Congressional Black Caucus hosts town hall meeting, workshop focused on education

Eleven Members of the U.S. House of Representatives visited Dallas on October 12-14 as part of the Congressional Black Caucus Political Leadership and Education Institute’s (CBCI) Southern Region Outreach Conference. The CBCI regularly sponsors a series of outreach events around the country for the CBC members to hear from the public on education and other issues.

TI Foundation inducts first ten teachers into STEM Academy as fellows

STEM awardsEmphasizing its commitment to building tomorrow’s workforce through education, the Texas Instruments (TI) Foundation inducted the first ten teachers into its new Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Academy as fellows.  The TI Foundation established the STEM awards last year to recognize instructors at the secondary level who are enhancing student achievement and increasing interest in high school classrooms in the Dallas, Plano and Richardson independent school districts (ISD).

TI Foundation grant helps expand United Way’s Destination: Graduation program to Collin County

As part of its commitment to making a difference in the community, the Texas Instruments Foundation (TIF) recently approved a $200,000 grant to the United Way for Destination: Graduation, $100,000 of which will help launch the program in Collin County.

The Dallas Center for the Performing Arts recently announced it reached a milestone with gifts of $1M or more from 108 different families and organizations more than 2 years before it opens. This number of $1M donors is unprecedented for a capital campaign for an arts or cultural organization in the U.S.

TI puts energy behind solar power as Contributing Sponsor for 2007 Solar Decathlon

Solar Decathalon Texas Instruments has long been committed to energy innovation. The company continues its tradition of building a greener future as a contributing sponsor for the 2007 Solar Decathlon, which is put on by the U.S. Department of Energy. The bi-annual event brought together 20 university teams from around the globe in a competition to design, build and operate the most energy-efficient and attractive solar-powered home. The teams came together to form a “solar village” on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
