Inductive Sensing
Design your sensor coil and start your system design in seconds
Inductive Sensing design tools support TI's ground-breaking family of inductance-to-digital converter (LDC) products and provide three tools for PCB coil design. LDCs use coils and springs as inductive sensors to deliver higher resolution, increased reliability, and greater flexibility than traditional sensing solutions at a lower system cost. The LDC design tools consist of Inductive Sensing Designer for position sensing and on/off sensing and Coil Designer to enable quick and easy generation of custom PCB coils. These tools allow you to export your custom coil into your preferred PCB CAD environment.
Want to sense axial position:
Want to sense on/off conditions
If you know the inductance required for a fully custom PCB coil:
Use this tool for axial position sensing applications and to generate PCB coils. You will need to enter your specific measurement and resolution needs. Select the Sensors page and Position sensing menu item on the designer panel for axial position sensing applications.
Use this tool for sensing on/off conditions by entering the switching distance requirements. Select the Sensors page and On/off sensing menu item.
Use the interactive Coil Designer for additional coil customization with input parameters such as shape, size, and number of turns to directly compute performance parameters such as inductance and Q. Select the Sensors page and Custom coil designer menu item on the designer panel.
