Hybrid RF/PLC EVM Configuration

The major hardware modification to build the hybrid RF and PLC module is to connect UART pins between RF and PLC EVM: UART_TX, UART_RX, and GND. Figure 9 shows UART pin connections between the TMDSPLCKITV4 and LAUNCHXL-CC1310. The M3:P2-12 (PLC_SCIA_TX) pin (Figure 9) is connected to the UART RX pin (DIO 2) on the LAUNCHXL-CC1310, and M3:P2-14 (PLC_SCIA_RX) (Figure 9) to the UART TX pin (DIO 3) on the LAUNCHXL-CC1310 EVM. One of the GND pins in the TMDSPLCKITV4 EVM, shown in Figure 9, is connected to a GND pin on the LAUNCHXL-CC1310.

As shown in Figure 10, additional configuration change is SW2 position to OFF. Turning off the SW2 blocks UART communication with the mini-USB port in TMDSPLCKITV4. Thus, it allows the M3 module to communicate with external device through UART without any interrupts.
