Key elements for consider- ation are the isolation specifications, the high-side power source and the input voltage range. With the right isolated amplifier that suits system requirements, a design can be achieved without the worry of passing the end-equipment certification, exceeding the absolute maximum analog input voltage ratings or causing excessive self-heating of the shunt resistor.
