High-temperature electronics lead to
improvements in oil, gas and geothermal
exploration Texas Instruments
recently introduced analog and power management
devices for oil and gas exploration equipment
that can withstand operating temperatures from
-55 °C to +210 °C. These high temperature
devices also help energy exploration companies
drill deeper and in hotter environments,
enabling them to potentially tap new energy
sources such as geothermal energy.

enhanced product portfolio from Texas
Instruments TI's EP
portfolio is certified to the Aerospace
Qualified Electronic Component (AQEC) standard.
This standard was jointly developed by the
aerospace and semiconductor industries to define
the minimum requirements for commercial
off-the-shelf (COTS) components used in
military, avionic and aerospace
applications.
The EP portfolio is also
suited for medical solutions and applications in
harsh environments where high reliability and
long service life are required.

Silicon Space Technology Corporation
and Texas Instruments enter into technology
license agreement Texas
Instruments and Silicon Space Technology
Corporation (SST) announced that they have
entered into an exclusive technology license
agreement for TI to use SST's Hardened By
Isolation (HBI) technology. SST's HBI technology
significantly improves the resistance of
integrated circuits to the effects of high
temperature and radiation.
"Results have
been outstanding, with tests showing HBI
technology to significantly improve the
performance of CMOS ICs manufactured with it by
improving the reliability of CMOS isolation that
typically fails early in high-temperature or
high-radiation applications," said James
Salzman, director of technology, TI HiRel.
