2010 High Reliability Guide
The Texas Instruments High Reliability group introduces a new line of devices in plastic packaging that can withstand operating temperatures from -55°C to +175°C. These high temperature (HT) offerings provide a solution for those customers requiring extreme temperature operation for a variety of applications.

The new plastic packages are built with special assembly processes and allow space savings by utilizing standard commercial plastic footprints, expanding options for customers that do not need +200°C operation and would like to use a smaller package than standard +210°C ceramic-package HT parts.

TI HiRel will continue to expand +175°C plastic-package offerings with new parts to provide a complete signal-chain solution for customers, with more releases scheduled for the end of 4Q10.

ADS6445-EP — Enhanced product quad-channel, 14-bit, 125-/105-/80-/65-MSPS analog-to-digital converter with serial LVDS outputs
The ADS6445 is a high-performance 14-bit 125 MSPS quad-channel analog-to-digital converter. Serial LVDS data outputs reduce the number of interface lines, resulting in a compact 64-pin QFN package (9 mm × 9 mm) that allows for high system integration density. The device includes a 3.5-dB coarse gain option that can be used to improve SFDR performance with little degradation in SNR. In addition to the coarse gain, fine gain options also exist, programmable in 1-dB steps up to 6 dB.

The output interface is two-wire, where each ADC data is serialized and output over two LVDS pairs. This makes it possible to halve the serial data rate (compared to a one-wire interface) and restrict it to less than 1 Gbps, easing receiver design.

LT1009MKGD1 — 2.5-V integrated reference circuit
The LT1009 reference circuit is a precision-trimmed 2.5-V shunt regulator featuring low dynamic impedance and a wide operating current range. The reference tolerance is achieved by on-chip trimming, which minimizes the initial voltage tolerance and the temperature coefficient, αVZ.

Although the LT1009 needs no adjustments, a third terminal (ADJ) allows the reference voltage to be adjusted ±5 percent to eliminate system errors. In many applications, the LT1009 can be used as a terminal-for-terminal replacement for the LM136-2.5, which eliminates the external trim network.

The LT1009 includes 5-V system references, 8-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and digital-to-analog converter (DAC) references, and power-supply monitors. The device can also be used in applications such as digital voltmeters and current-loop measurement and control systems.

The LT1009 is characterized for operation from -55°C to +125°C.
