Software Development Kits (SDK) - TI SDKs provide key software components and documentation for the platform of your choice. SDKs can be downloaded on TI.com for free, and also come with TI evaluation modules (EVM) and development kits. SDKs require no runtime royalties.

Software Development Kits (SDKs) include the following components:

Operating Systems (OS) / Board Support Package (BSP)
TI provides SDKs for Linux® and Android operating systems, with accompanying Board Support Packages (BSPs) that include peripheral drivers and boot loaders. TI also enables third-party Developer Network members to provide commercial services for their SDKs and to also port their own operating system on TI platforms.

  • Protocol and interface stacks - Several communications and protocol stacks are included in the Linux and and Android Software Development Kits (SDKs), such as USB and TCP/IP. Others such as PROFIBUS, EtherCAT and CAN-bus are included in application specific kits such as the Industrial Development Kit (IDK), or are available through the TI Developer Network.
  • Windows Embedded CE support: Now from Adeneo Embedded - Texas Instruments has a strategic relationship with Adeneo Embedded for the release and support of  Windows Embedded Compact Software Development Kits (SDK) for TI based ARM® Cortex™-A8 and ARM9™ devices. Adeneo has extensive experience working with TI and Microsoft on previous SDKs. Adeneo is a Microsoft Windows Embedded Gold partner.

Application Software & Frameworks/b>
These application-specific software packages use underlying OS services. TI works with OS-specific and industry-standard frameworks to enable and optimize on our platforms. Key examples are: Qt Embedded , GStreamer, MS Direct Show, Adobe Flash and MS Silverlight.

Demos - TI delivers example applications and demos with our software development kits. These demos provide a starting point for customers to use their applicable SDK, and also demonstrate the capability of TI platforms.

Software Tools & Development Environments
For ARM Linux software development, TI includes Code Sourcery’s Sourcery G++™ GCC and GDB tools and Code Composer Studio™ IDE v5 (CCStudio). For ARM RTOS applications, developers can use the appropriate third-party IDE or CCStudio for select RTOS solutions. JTAG emulators with a variety of PC interfaces, speeds, and prices are available from TI and through TI’s Developer Network.
