Its operation is intended to provide an efficient, standardized process for TI employees to order and receive material. The system is designed to provide: ease of use, minimum paperwork and personnel involvement outside the user and the supplier's warehouse people, and assured authority to order materials. The design and operating purpose is to eliminate non-value added activity by both TI and the supplier.
Procurement EDI is a mainframe based application that provides the transfer of data electronically to and from an EDI supplier. The system currently supports six EDI ANSI documents: Request for quote (840), Quote Response (843), Purchase Order (850), Purchase Order Response (855), Change Request (860), and Change Request Response (865).
