Texas Instruments in Germany is headquartered
in Freising, near Munich. The Freising site houses the European
Business Center for Mixed Signal and Logic Products and an advanced
BiCMOS/CMOS wafer fab. Its responsibilities cover European sales and
marketing for TI products, including semiconductors, calculators,
organizers, materials and controls and TIRIS™ , the Texas Instruments
Identification and Registration System. The site was founded more than
30 years ago and today totals more than 1200 people.

TI's advanced BiCMOS/CMOS manufacturing facility in Freising
ensures an ongoing supply of advanced semiconductors to its European
and worldwide customers. It produces highly complex components such as
linear and logic chips on 200 mm wafers using technologies down to
0.25 microns. These chips are used in computers, cellphones, DVDs and
many other applications.
Semiconductor Sales & Marketing
The Semiconductor Sales and Marketing organization serves the
entire European region. Due to strong customer relationships, it is a
leading supplier in such key markets as automotive and
telecommunications electronics, where European industry is a dominant
player.
Educational Technology
The Educational Technology business (ET)
covers the European market for instructional tools such as
calculators. Other products include personal organizers and personal
digital assistants.
The Texas Instruments Registration and Identification System
The Texas Instruments Registration and Identification System (TIRIS™) was initially
invented and developed in Freising. Now a part of its worldwide
business activities is located here. TIRIS™ is a leader in the
automotive and customer recognition markets and is now providing
disposable tags for use in baggage handling and parcel delivery
services. TIRIS also serves a diverse group of customers in sports
timing and access control applications.

Zero wasted resources, zero
injuries and zero illnesses. These are the goals of Texas Instruments
Environmental, Safety and Health Excellence Programs. We, the
employees of TID in Germany play an important role. We have made great
