TI has created
The Excellence in Signal Processing Award (“ESPA”)
to satisfy two important needs that have become clearly
evident as TI’s European University Program has matured.
The first is from Students and
Lecturers who want recognition of their skills in the DSP or
MSP field. The second is to give TI visibility of where
the skilled DSP and MSP students go once they have graduated
from University and are moving into industry. TI’s own research
shows that the majority of Students who are good at DSP or MSP
progress to work in this field.
Students can win a personal copy of TI’s full integrated
development
environment Code Composer Studio™ for DSP and Code Composer
Essentials™ for MSP, along with a
FIVE year subscription for
upgrades. The value of this software at commercial prices is
$3,500 at the start, and then $600 per year.
The award enables students to present themselves with
confidence to
future employers.
They can demonstrate that their
roficiency in signal processing has been recognized by TI, and
they can bring a truly valuable tool in their “personal toolbox”
to a company.
Lecturers who are running DSP or MSP Labs and projects are
encouraged to fit this scheme into their courses as an
incentive to students to achieve more. They can then
nominate their best students for the award. The key criteria are
that the student must demonstrate above average proficiency in
DSP or MSP, and be working with TI platforms. Typically we
expect each University group to nominate up to two students per
year.
How it works:
- The
Lecturer completes an
online form
nominating the student(s), including a brief justification.
- TI responds, and if we accept the nomination, we write to the
students notifying them of the award.
- The student needs to respond to the e-mail and to register for
my.ti.com
- They then receive their personal copy of CCStudio™ or
CCEssentials Pro™ and a Certificate which they can print and
show to future employers. TI also lists them on the ESPA “Hall
of Fame” webpage.
- Providing they maintain their registration, they will be able
to update their CCStudio™ or CCEssentials Pro™ free-of-charge
for five years.
The scheme is open now, so nominate your best students
today!!
