AFE5809: Fully Integrated, 8-ch. Analog Front End w/Passive CW Mixer & Digital I/Q Demodulation for Ultrasonic Applications
The AFE5809 is a highly integrated Analog Front-End (AFE) solution specifically designed for ultrasonic systems in which high performance and small size are required. The AFE5809 integrates a complete time-gain-control (TGC) imaging path and a continuous wave Doppler (CWD) path. It also enables users to select one of various power/noise combinations to optimize system performance. AFE5809 also includes a digital in-phase and quadrature (I/Q) demodulator and a low-pass decimation filter. The main purpose of the demodulation block is to reduce the LVDS data rate and improve overall system power efficiency.
VCA5807: Fully Integrated, 8-channel, Voltage Controlled Amplifier w/ Passive CW Mixer for Ultrasonic Applications
The VCA5807 is an integrated Voltage Controlled Amplifier (VCA) specifically designed for ultrasonic systems in which high performance and small size are required. The VCA5807 integrates a complete time-gain-control (TGC) imaging path and a continuous wave Doppler (CWD) path. It also enables users to select one of various power/noise combinations to optimize system performance. Pair it with one of TI's discrete, high speed, high channel count ADC's such as the ADS5295 for a complete front end solution.
ADS5295: Octal Channel 12-Bit, 100MSPS High-SNR and Low-Power ADC for Phased Array Architecture Ultrasonic Applications
The ADS5295 is a low-power, 12-bit, 100-MSPS, 8-channel analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Low power consumption and integration of multiple channels in a compact package make the device attractive for very high channel count data acquisition systems. Several digital functions that are commonly used in systems are included in the device. These functions include a low-frequency suppression mode, digital filtering options, and programmable mapping.

Front End Sonar Solutions from Texas Instruments
Sound Navigation and Ranging (Sonar) uses sound waves to measure or detect objects on or under the surface of the water. Pulses of sound are emitted and then reflected back to the receivers listening for echo's. Very similar to medical ultrasound, Sonar technology often uses an array of multichannel receivers to enable spatial differentiation of the resulting echo's. Learn more about TI's multi-channel front end solutions for Sonar Receivers and how TI technology can enable your next Sonar design.
