DLP® TRP pixel architecture and chipsets

Based on proven Texas Instruments DLP Cinema technology, the imaging choice for nearly 90% of the world’s digital theatre screens, TI’s DLP TRP pixel architecture and adaptive DLP IntelliBright suite of algorithms deliver up to 100 percent higher brightness or up to 50 percent lower power consumption than previous DLP Pico chipset architectures of comparable resolution. This results in significantly higher levels of brightness or power efficiency, allowing developers to create a wide variety of applications and products in smaller form factors than ever before. Additionally, the TRP pixel architecture allows the chipset to achieve twice the resolution of its same-size predecessor.

0.2” TRP WVGA display chipset

The Texas Instruments 0.2” TRP WVGA display chipset is TI’s smallest to utilize TRP technology. This display chipset is designed to produce brighter, more efficient, next-generation projection displays from the smallest form factors, such as smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, mobile accessories, interactive surface computing, digital signage, aftermarket head-up displays and near-eye displays.

0.2” TRP WVGA display chipset features:

  • TI’s smallest display chipset with TRP technology (WVGA 854x480)
  • Up to 100% higher brightness
  • Up to 50% less power

Example applications:

  • Smartphones
  • Tablets
  • Near-Eye Display
  • Camcorders
  • DSLRs
  • Watches

0.3" TRP HD 720p displayTRP DLP® Pico™ chipset

The Texas Instruments 0.3" TRP HD 720p display chipset is TI’s smallest, most power-efficient HD micro-mirror array and can generate 720p displays from compact applications, including tablets, smartphones, accessories, wearable displays, augmented reality displays, interactive surface computing, digital signage and control panels. The chipset's fast switching speeds of up to thousands of times per second enable the world's smallest true color RGB engines with 120Hz video performance.

0.3" TRP HD 720p display chipset features:

  • DLP’s most efficient HD Pico chipset (1280x720)
