New secure boot capabilities on the OMAP-L138 C6-Integra™ DSP+ARM processors protect proprietary intellectual property and prevent external entities from modifying custom algorithms making it ideal for applications such as public safety communications and medical monitoring equipment.
With multi-level encryption, developers also have the ability to upgrade their boot and application code remotely while allowing the boot to remain secure when software upgrades are needed. Applications that benefit from the secure field upgrade feature include currency counters with counterfeit bill detection, medical patient monitors that require secure information stored in external flash memory and software-defined radios that ensure communications isn’t compromised if they fall into the wrong hands.
TI also offers the same secure features on the TMS320C6748 digital signal processors (DSPs) sampling today at 375MHz and 456MHz with industrial temperature ranges available.
