BoosterPacks are plug-in boards for the LaunchPad that expand the LaunchPad's functionality to enable more options.

Starter Kits: Programmer + Target Board + IDE

Starter Kits come with everything required to complete an entire project including a target board, USB debugging and programming interface, free IDE software, MSP430 samples, and cables. Most target boards include a socket for a specific package and pin count.  Please double check the recommended tool for the device you intent to use on the device's web page.

Experimenter Boards

Experimenter Boards from Texas Instruments feature selected MSP430 devices and additional hardware components for easy system evaluation and prototyping. They are the ideal platform for learning a new architecture or testing the capabilities of a device. 

Debugging & Programming Tools

Thanks to its on-chip Embedded Emulation, only one development tool is required forallMSP430 flash devices.  It provides full access to real-time, in-system debugging with multiple hardware breakpoints,  trace capability, clock control and other advanced debugging features typically only found on high-end development systems.
