TI's analog temperature sensors are great alternatives to thermistors. Unlike thermistors, analog temperature sensors provide a linear output which corresponds to higher accuracy over a wider temperature range. Also, analog temperature sensors consume less board space as they don't require the resistive network that thermistors do. In addition, analog temperature sensors dissipate much less power than thermistors due to their constant low supply current across operating temperature.
