The CC2531EMK kit provides one CC2531 USB Dongle and documentation to support a PC interface to 802.15.4 / ZigBee applications. The dongle can be plugged directly into your PC and can be used as an IEEE 802.15.4 packet sniffer or for other purposes. With the CC2531 USB Firmware Library available on the web you can develop your own software to utilize this part.
The CC2533 RF4CE development kit is designed to support development on TI's industry leading RF4CE-compliant software architecture, RemoTI. SmartRF™ Studio is a Windows application that can be used to evaluate and configure most Wireless Connectivity devices from Texas Instruments. The application will help designers of RF systems to easily evaluate the RF-ICs at an early stage in the design process. It is especially useful for generation of configuration register values, for practical testing of the RF system and for finding optimized external component values. The SmartRF™ Flash Programmer can be used to program the flash memory many SimpleLink™ Wireless Networking Solutions devices and for upgrading the firmware and bootloader on the related evaluation boards and debugger (SmartRF Evaluation Boards, CC Debugger, etc.). It can be used together with IAR Embedded Workbench for 8051 (version 7.51A or later) for debugging and SmartRF Flash Programmer for flash programming.
