Stellaris® MCUs for Medical Applications

Medical equipment and instrumentation requires accuracy, reliability, and responsiveness. Whether connected or standalone, Stellaris MCUs offer solutions useful to the medical equipment manufacturer. Safety is enhanced through secure memory features, multiple error detection mechanisms in the processor, perpherial fault detection, priority of interrupts to handle faults and critical operations, and highly deterministic operation. Some MCUs include the certified SafeRTOS real time operating system in ROM. Communications include USB, CAN, Ethernet, and serial for connected devices.

Stellaris Motor and Motion Control Features:

• Motion Control PWMs with deadband and fault detection support safe and efficient operation of motors. High speed ensures cleanest operation.
• QEI (quadrature encoder inputs) support incremental encoders, tachometers, generators/resolvers, TDC detectors.
• High speed ADCs support current measurement using Halls or shunts to adjust algorithms optimally.
• Independent integrated analog comparators can be configured to drive an output or generate an interrupt of ADC event.

• Hardware assisted IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP)
