MSP430Ware and brand new Driver Library

MSP430Ware is a collection of code examples, datasheets and other design resources for all MSP430™ MCU devices delivered in a convenient package - essentially everything developers need to become MSP430 MCU experts! Like Stellaris® MCU's StellarisWare® and C2000™ MCU's controlSUITE™ software, MSP430Ware also includes a high level peripheral Driver Library to make it easy to talk to MSP430 hardware. The Driver Library's easy-to-use function calls make MSP430 MCU development easier than ever.
Ultra-low power MSP430™ MCUs now qualified for automotive applications

TI's ultra-low power MSP430G2xx and MSP430F2xx series are now AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications including interior cabin motors, capacitive touch, infotainment systems and remote keyless entry. The automotive-qualified MSP430 MCUs help developers reduce system costs and time-to-market, while improving vehicle fuel efficiency and battery life. Developers can also easily design LIN-based applications and products with the included LIN software drivers. More than 50 MSP430 automotive qualified microcontrollers are now available for sampling.

Using TI technology to simplify Bluetooth pairing via NFC

Bluetooth pairing usually involves some level of user interaction to confirm the identity of the user and/or the devices themselves. There are many pairing mechanisms available across the versions of Bluetooth (v2.0 through v4.0). This process is typically lengthy and sometimes confusing to the user, and so this application report is aimed at showing TI technology developers details on implementing a simplified pairing scheme method outlined by the NFC Forum using an MSP430F5529 (a TI ultra-low power MCU), a TRF7970A (a TI NFC transceiver IC), and a CC2560 (a TI Bluetooth radio IC).

CC110L-based Sub-1GHz RF BoosterPack for LaunchPad

The CC110L AIR BoosterPack is a low-power wireless transceiver extension module for use with the TI MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad development kit. Based on the CC110L device, the on-board A110LR09A radio module with integrated antenna operates in the European 868-870MHz and US 902-928MHz ISM bands. The included AIR BoosterPack software application, called AIR BoosterStack, demonstrates an example sensor network as well as network status reporting. TI offers a Continua-certified USB hardware-software platform for medical devices that implements the Personal Healthcare Device Class (PHDC) along with IEEE 11073. For use with TI's ultra-low power MSP430™ microcontrollers that have integrated USB, the software can be accessed from the above link and includes a royalty-free sublicense for use on MSP430 devices.

New Stellaris® ARM® Cortex™-M MCU motor control kit spins and tunes three-phase brushless motors in minutes

Adding to its growing portfolio of motor control solutions, TI now has a motor control kit for spinning three-phase brushless motors with a Stellaris Cortex-M3 MCU. The new DK-LM3S-DRV8312 motor control kit features a 32-bit Stellaris LM3S818 microcontroller and DRV8312 motor driver to spin sub-50V, 6.5A three-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motors in minutes.
